Book shelf spelunking

Wyatts' sister Kami called us the other day and asked us if we would be so awesome to retrieve her hat for her. So of course we said sure and went to go and get it. It was trapped between the wall and two bookshelves. The bookshelves are in the corner and there is a hole between them and the corner of the wall. That is where her hat fell. So we (being Wyatt, me, Mom, Dad) went downstairs to see what we could do to get this hat back for her. They got a small ladder and rigged up a hook from a hanger and got the hat. After they retrieved the hat they saw that there was a few other things down there. Books, undies, garbage to be exact. Wyatt used the hook thing to grab the undies, but it was no good with the books and garbage. So Dad went and grabbed the vacuum and mom started to vacuum out the books and garbage. Didn't work so well. We came to the conclusion that when the girls woke up, we would stick one of them down there and let them grab the few things that were left.

Morning came and right after (possibly before) breakfast we had them down there getting the rest of the stuff. Wyatt first lowered Cassidy down and she grabbed some books and garbage.
Here she is down in the hole.
After Cassidy had her turn and was safely retrieved from the hole, Hailey wanted to go down! So Wyatt lowered her down and she gathered a little bit more garbage. (Excuse the scabaciousness of my children. Like I said, it was before hair doing time.) I think this picture shows just how small of a hole it was!
Needless to say, the hole is now clean of all garbage, books, undies, and hats that were down there. What we should have done was send a rag down with them and had them wash the walls!!
